Calcined abrasive wheels last 40% longer than regular aluminum oxide abrasive wheels. A calcined wheel is made with a higher grade of aluminum oxide grit which goes through a second high temperature firing that makes the abrasive grains harder and more brittle. This allows the grains to last longer and fracture easier exposing more sharp grinding surfaces and improving the cutting speed and longevity of the blade. These Type 1 reinforced cut-off blades are designed to be used on an angle grinder and to quickly and efficiently cut most ferrous metals.
